Now therefore, what have I here,” says the LORD, Then the Assyrian oppressed them without cause. (4-6) The LORD vindicates His name before those who blaspheme His name. The end of Isaiah 52 begins to describe the great cost of redemption, but it is a cost paid by another. You shall be redeemed without money – but it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t cost anything. God’s mercy answered to their tragic sin. Yet, they would be blessed by being redeemed without money. You have sold yourselves for nothing, and you shall be redeemed without money: Tragically, Jerusalem went after other gods like someone selling themselves for nothing. This shows that this passage has ultimate fulfillment in the very last days.Ĭ. Put on your beautiful garments…for the uncircumcised and the unclean shall no longer come to you: Jerusalem could put on clothes of beauty and glory because the time of judgment was over. Now, the third Awake, awake! tells Zion to put on strength in light of the first two awakenings.ī. The second Awake, awake! (Isaiah 51:17) asked Jerusalem to remember the LORD’s judgments and promises. Awake, awake! Put on your strength, O Zion: The first Awake, awake! asked the LORD to put on strength (Isaiah 51:9). Loose yourself from the bonds of your neck,Īnd you shall be redeemed without money.”Ī. (1-3) Wake up to the LORD’s redemption of Zion. I have never giving a written review for any app but I am so sorry I just feel like I can’t even trust using this as a reference for when studying something in the Bible that I’m unfamiliar with or anything in general because the writer honestly doesn’t seem to have written things out in a way that would come off as a true believer in the words of Jesus.A. A lot of the commentary almost seems as if the writer and creator isn’t even sure if what Jesus said is truly the word of God. For example for commentary on the verse when Jesus says “No one comes to the Father except through Me.” The app has a comment under that saying “ Jesus made this remarkable statement, claiming that He was the only way to God.”Ĭlaiming?!?! Why if you are a believer writing this, why would you say Jesus “claimed,” something as if there is a possibility that Jesus isn’t actually telling or speaking the very truth?!? This was just one example that the many times through the whole chapter the commentary said Jesus “claims” something rather then saying Jesus “said” or “told” us something. So I was originally excited to start using this app to study the word even deeper, but after reading John 14 and then using this to dive deeper into the word and see what this had to say I was instantly taking back on what was written. Watch for EW App updates coming soon: 2.5.3.14ĭoesn’t seem like the write believes in the Bible as Truth but rather a “possibility” May God richly bless you as you draw near to Him through the Word. I want to thank the creators of this app because y’all have done a wonderful job! It has certainly helped me in seeking God and has pushed me to look even deeper into His word by reading apologetics and sermons given by some of the authors that this app quotes from. Overall, I cannot give this app a more positive review. The app will show the connections between the Old and New Testament and how different verses allude to one another. It has helped me so much with putting things into context both historically and even in terms of the context of the Bible itself. The Bible can be a bit daunting because of the length and the language but this app has helped break down verses in a way that makes it more easily understood. I am a recent convert to Christianity, so when I started reading the Bible it was with a completely blank slate of knowledges and this app has just been a wonderful resource.
